Gordon Olsen Obituary

Gordon Scott Olsen 1959 ~ 2007 Scott passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on Dec. 23, 2007. Scott was born on May 2, 1959 to Gordon Olsen and Barbara Olsen in Salt Lake City, UT. He served an LDS mission to Korea and was a BYU graduate. He was married to Michelle Murray in the Los Angeles Temple. Scott will be missed by his boys: Kelly, Andrew, Patrick and Christopher; his parents and siblings; 15 nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends. Scott loved spending time with his four boys, biking, skiing, junk food, and all things extreme and fun. He was truly a boy among boys. We love you, Scott and we will miss the laughter and the smiles. Services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at the Lone Peak Stake Center (11570 Wasatch Blvd. Sandy, UT). Friends and family are welcome to visit at the stake center one hour prior to the services. Interment at Murray City Cemetery. I know the Olsen family from my days as a missionary serving in Bishop Olsen's Ward in Minneapolis over 30 years ago. What a wonderful family. I was saddened to hear of Scott’s passing. Thank goodness for our knowledge of the gospel plan.
I am reminded of the statement of Joseph Smith. “The only difference between the old and young dying is, one lives longer in heaven and eternal light and glory than the other, and is freed a little sooner from this miserable wicked world. Notwithstanding all this glory, we for a moment lose sight of it, and mourn the loss, but we do not mourn as those without hope.”
Olsen family, please know that our prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Dear Scott's Fam,
Scott was the bomb! He is a party in a box, even with adversity. I know how much he loved all of you, because he talked about you all the time! He always kept me up on what everyone was doing. I'm sure your closeness will help you through this hard time. I really hope his boys will stay close to the family, because Scott would have wanted it that way.

Scott lived life...from kim chee and sushi to riding his bike all the way down Trapper's Loop without brakes! I'm sure he would hope that zest for life for all of you...he loved you dearly. The only time I ever saw him cry was when he was scheduled to be with his boys and the plans fell through. He loved those boys more than life itself.

Sorry I can't be there today to celebrate his life. However, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love,
Christie Jacobsen Lammers
