LeGrande E. (Dan) Gregory 1921 ~ 2006 FARMINGTON - LeGrande E. (Dan) Gregory, age 84, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006 surrounded by his family. Born September 30, 1921 to Elijah B. and Julia Tree Gregory of Farmington. Dan attended Davis High School and graduated from the University of Utah in 1942 where he lettered in basketball and was picked All Conference in football. Upon graduation, he attended officer training for the U.S. Navy at Columbia University. He served in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Mercury through World War II. He married the love of his life Barbara Adams, daughter of Spencer D. and Bertha Adams of Layton in Nov. of 1943. They were together for almost 60 years prior to her passing three years ago. She is greatly missed. They lovingly raised four sons and a daughter. Dan worked as Sales manager for Miller Floral for many years before becoming Managing Director of the Intermountain Electrical Association and subsequently Director of Training at Utah Power and Light. In addition to serving his country and industry, he served the City of Farmington, as a City Counsel member for 10 years and Mayor for 12. He was active in the LDS Church, having served in many positions. A loving father, husband, and a great dad and grandpa, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf with family and friends. He is survived by his sons: Larry (Meledie), Centerville, Utah; Douglas (Danna), Huntsville; Roger (Teri), Sandy; Matthew (Lisa), Sandy; and daughter Barbara Jean (Kent) Dibble, Phoenix, AZ; brother Harold, St. George; sister-in-law Josephine, St. George; and sister Dorothy (Robert H.M.) Killpack, West Jordan. Preceded in death by his wife Barbara, brothers Frederick (and Thora), Rulon (Josephine), sisters Fern (Milton J.) Hess, Helen Ruth, and son Michael Dan. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Farmington Steed Creek Chapel, 247 South 200 West. Friends and family may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Monday from 12:45-1:45 at the church. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
