Before the book closes, I just wanted to say that I knew Raymond only for a short time and only on the Cyber soapbox. He always impressed me as a good and decent man, slow to anger and quick to forgive. It is a shame when the world loses such a man, they make it a better place, but God needs good men too. He is not really gone; he is waiting in a place where time has no relevance.

I only "met" him online, but I know I speak for many when I say that r.brown (as he was known to us on the Cyber Soap Box and earlier on the Car Talk bulletin boards) came across to everyone, without exception, as one of most gracious, decent and worthwhile people in both cyberspace or in the real world. I'm sorry I never got to meet him in person.
Raymond will be missed by many, many people he never knew. My sincere condolences to his family and others whom he did know.

I am one of the many who also only knew Ray on-line. Throough our interactions I always found him to be an articulate and intelligent who was genuinely caring and respectful of other's feelings. Even the way he faced his illness showed a strength of character that I have much respect for.
My sincerest heartfelt condolences go out to his friends and family on the loss of this exceptional man.

My deepest condolences to all of Ray's family.
I am yet another of the many people with whom Ray shared his life on line. He presented himself exactly as all those who know him in "real life" would have expected - kind, caring, funny, and almost constitutionally unable to either take or give offense or hurt to others.
He truly was one of a kind, and I shed genuine tears on reading of his passing.
Thank you for sharing him with us.

To Ray's family,
I "met" Ray in 2000 on a message board at Car Talk. For the last seven years, I have admired his honesty, caring and sense of humor. One very unusual characteristic of Ray's was that he never resorted to personal attacks on others, but was instead supportive and empathetic.
My thoughts will be with you.

I knew R. Brown through a message board. Consistant with what I have seen friends and family say, he never had an unkind word. He will be much missed by his cyber friends.

Dear friends and family of r. brown,
r. brown has been a long time and almost daily correspondent on the Cybersoapbox, and before that on we was corresponding together on the Rants and Rave message board.

We are all very saddened by Raymond's passing. Although we only ever knew him online, in all our discussions and debates he was a true gentleman. He showed courage and humour through all his adversity, and was never one to complain.
He will be very much missed.

Grateful for the sweet memories of our association with Raymond. I remember his effort and thoughtfulness when he came to vist Uncle Mitch after Mitch's open heart surgery. Then there were the many emails, after the surgery, from Raymond to cheer Mitch. Thank you Raymond for belonging to all of us. You are just out of sight for awhile. Families are Forever!
Love and prayers to his family. He is missed and loved

Uncle Ren, Aunt Carol and families:
I send my love and sympathy to you. What a reunion Raymond had when he returned to his Father in Heaven and the welcoming arms of Grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Raymond will be missed by many, many people. I know that words cannot take away your pain and I just want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are for your family at this hard time for you. I am sorry I cannot be there for you as you have been there for my family, but please know my love for your family is sent. I think of you all often no matter the distance that separates us.

I have many great memories of Raymond. He had his own unique humor and wit, and could lighten any room by his mere presence and smile. He could tease you, then make you laugh at yourself in the next breath - and that is truly a gift.
He was a sweet and caring person who will live on in all our most kindest actions.
