She especially loved the years she spent in Hawaii but her roots were always planted deep in the Panguitch soil. Maxine had been active in sports in her youth and loved to dance, especially the Hula. She also loved fishing and family reunions at the cabin at Panguitch Lake. Maxine was always providing compassionate service, she was generous, even to a fault. Our sincere sympathy to all of your family. Your Mom was one of our favorite people. Even to this day whenever any of our children catch a fish, they will immediately start yelling "Fishing, fishing!!!", which they learned from her as she reeled them in just a stone's throw from the cabin at Panguitch Lake.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. We're glad that we were able to visit with her just a couple of months ago. Love to all of you.

Right after Charles and I got engaged he brought me "home" to Panguitch to meet his family. As soon as I met Maxine she made me feel comfortable and welcome and insisted I call her Aunt Maxine since I was becoming one of the family.
When Charles and I got married in Tucson in 1987, she and Adele drove that long drive to be there to share in our special day. Seeing her at the wedding, Charles and Vanice said it was the closest thing to having their mother there. Both Charles and Vanice always held her in deep regards.
She and I spoke spoke often and she helped me by letting me know about some of the hijinks the Englesteads got into in the early days.

Oh how I remember Aunt Maxine. She would give me a quarter for a kiss and a hug. We called her the kissing Aunt. Her and Uncle Alvin were always near if you needed them. Many memories, to many to put on paper but all of them happy.
I will miss her.
My condolences to you all. I wish I could attend the funeral but my wife has just had surgery this monday and I am needed to help her.

Max and Elaine: So sorry for your loss. When a mother returns home, it leaves such a giant hole here on earth, but we are left with a lifetime of memories. You will think of her often but she will always be with you.
