Katharine J. Carey

Katharine J. Carey lifelong resident of Fitchburg; 83 Fitchburg Katharine J. (Mylott) Carey, 83, died Monday evening July 21, at the Life Care Center of Leominster. Katharine was born in Fitchburg the daughter of Timothy and Maud (Cate) Mylott and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1944. Many years ago, she was employed as a nurse's aide for twelve years at Burbank Hospital. Katharine was a very active member of Christ Episcopal Church and was a Sunday School Teacher for twenty five years. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Church. Katharine was a full time loving homemaker and care giver and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Katharine's husband of 53 years, Raymond G. Carey Jr. died November 7, 2006. They were married September 5, 1953. She leaves her sons, Bruce D. Carey and his companion Charlette Colson of Leominster and Brian G. Carey of Fitchburg. Her daughter Jane L. Carey of Leominster. Her nephew Dan H. Mylott of Fitchburg, Jan Mylott and Anita Rae Mallard of Florida and Kathy Bienvenue of Cortlanet Manor, N.Y. and her very best friend Ethel Smith of Fitchburg. Katharine was predeceased by her brothers, Daniel T. Mylott, J. Harlan Mylott, Rev. Timothy W. Mylott and her sisters, Constance T. Mallard and Evelyn Mylott. CAREY A visitation time will be held on Friday July 25, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. in Choate Chapel of Christ Church 569 Main St., Hartwell St. entrance, followed by a communion service at 11:00 A.M. in Christ Church. Burial will follow in Forest Hill cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Beacon of Hope 62 West St. Leominster, Ma. 01453.
