Agnes Sontag Obituary

Agnes P. Sontag lifelong Fitchburg resident; 81 FITCHBURG Agnes P. Sontag, 81, formerly of Beech St., died Thursday, August 7, at The Highlands in Fitchburg. Miss Sontag was born in Fitchburg, July 20, 1927, a daughter of Frederik L. and Emma (Niles) Sontag, and was a lifelong resident of Fitchburg. Miss Sontag is survived by three brothers, Russell J. Sontag and Wallace D. Sontag, both of Fitchburg, Fred J. Sontag of Valley Stream, NY; one sister, Beatrice Gagne of Orlando, FL; one sister-in-law, Louise Sontag of Fitchburg. Miss Sontag is predeceased by a brother, Raymond Sontag who died in 2005, and a brother-in-law, Arthur "Ted" Gagne who died in 1989. Miss Sontag was previously employed at the former Harry Doehla Greeting Card Company of Fitchburg, the Aubuchon Hardware Company, the former Independent Lock Company, and the former Rogers in the Square. Miss Sontag was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church of Fitchburg. Miss Sontag was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, Class of 1945. SONTAG A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg are assisting the family with arrangements. Please see www.isabellefuneral.com for additional information.
