You were a great Mom, and a real patriot. Leaving a tiny town in Minnesota at such a young age to enlist in the Navy and go off to war took immense courage. You were also a faithful Christian. Rest in peace, and continu ro inspire us from heaven. Love and prayers, Steve & MarySandra

She was a patriot, a U.S. Navy WAVE who left her tiny town of Ellsworth, Minnesota to enlist in WWII. Mom and her twin brother, Uncle Paul Lovrien, enlisted together, becoming the first twins to enlist in any branch of the service in WWII from the state of Minnesota. Uncle Paul was a highly decorated NAVY fighter pilot; Mom was a skilled, highly compassionate operating room technician at Bethesda Naval Medical Center. She was also a great Mother, and fervent Catholic. Rest in peace- you did well! Love and prayers, Steve and MarySandra, Friendswood, Texas

I wasn't aware that there was an online guestbook for Grammy. When she passed over 2 years ago, I hadn't ever discovered this, but came across it tonight.
Grammy was a wonderful person who served her country, her family, her church, and her community during her many years on earth. She was very good to me, and helped me through some really rough times. She was always so proud of her grandchildren, no matter what we did. She saw life in a positive light, and was a good influence on people around her. I miss you so much Grammy, say hi to Papa for me.

Mom, I hope my eulogy at your funeral did you justice. I especially wanted all to know you enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 20, & served your country faithfully during wartime as a "Wave", the 1st of the navy nurses. May the Blessed Mother welcome you & keep you, and may we all place our trust in the eternal love of our Savior! Love, Steve

The world has lost a fine woman, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; full of wisdom, intelligence, and energy. I immensely appreciate all that she has done to change the world for the better -- both in wartime and peacetime. I definitely will hold on to and treasure all the good memories and pass them down to the newer generations so that the hard-earned wisdom will continue to enrich us all. Good-bye for now and a billion trillion googol thank-yous, one of my two favorite grandmas!

Our hearts go out to all of you ... Aunt "Tish" was loved greatly by my father, her twin brother Paul. Though she lived far away when I was small, her arrival to visit was always a wonderful event.

How many people could say they truly loved their mother-in-law? I can. She was a wonderful role model for me. She was very loving and giving. When the kids were small, she'd tell me to take time to myself and"go out with your friends and buy a new lipstick." I will miss her very much.
