Pauline Andres Lunenburg

Pauline Andres Lunenburg, born in Greenfield, MA; 88 LUNENBURG Pauline (Gashnig) Andres, formerly of Massachusetts Ave., died Tuesday morning, Aug. 26, in the Highlands in Fitchburg. She was born in Greenfield, MA, on Aug. 31, 1919 a daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Meier) Gashnig. Pauline was a graduate of Greenfield High School with the Class of 1937 and then received her nursing degree in 1940 from the Franklin County Public Hospital School of Nursing. Following her graduation she remained at the Hospital as a registered nurse before moving to Lunenburg in 1946. While living in town she did home health care for several years throughout the area. She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Parish in Fitchburg as well as the Lady Emma Chapter 27 Order of the Eastern Star, Lunenburg Friendly Seniors and the Franklin County Retired Nurses Alumni Association. Pauline was also very active in Girl Scouts as a leader in Lunenburg and she volunteered as a leader for the 4H Club. Her husband of 58 years, Arthur W. "Moe" Andres died in 1999. She leaves a son, James R. Andres of New Ipswich, NH; a daughter, Nancy A. Wilson of Willington, CT; a sister, Adelaide L. Coffin of Ypsilanti, MI and Sarasota, FL; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by a sister, Emily E. Smith. ANDRES The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 John Fitch Hwy., Fitchburg. Burial will be in the North Cemetery. A calling hour at the church will be held on Friday, Aug. 29, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 John Fitch Hwy., Fitchburg, MA 01420.
