Robert J. St. Germain

Robert J. St. Germain a former longtime resident of Fitchburg; 89 FITCHBURG Robert J. St. Germain, 89, of Lake Worth, Florida, a former longtime resident of 29 Merriam Avenue, Fitchburg, died Tuesday, July 15th, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, West Palm Beach, Florida. His wife, Marjorie A. (Munro) St.Germain died in July 1998. Mr. St. Germain was born in Fitchburg, October 21, 1918, a son of William and Pauline (Gerard) St.Germain, and resided in Fitchburg for much of his life before moving to Florida in the late 1990's. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John P. and Barbara St.Germain of Lake Worth, FL; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was the father of Robert St. Germain who died in 1992, and James E. St. Germain who died in 2002, and the brother of the late George St. Germain, Edmond St. Germain, Andrew St. Germain, Bernard St. Germain who was killed in action during WW II, Olive Minahan, Bernadette Mudgett, Irene Norton, Blanche St. Germain and Pauline Rodriquenz. Mr. St. Germain was a 1936 graduate of Fitchburg High School, and in 1940 received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. During WW II, he served his country in the United States Navy. He was a communicant of St. Camillus de Lellis Church in Fitchburg, and was an avid golfer. For over 40 years, Mr. St. Germain owned and operated Leominster Chrysler Plymouth, retiring in 1976. During that time, he also owned and operated City Cab in Fitchburg. Following his graduation from college, he briefly taught English and French at Fitchburg High School. ST. GERMAIN A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 5th at St. Camillus de Lellis Church, 333 Mechanic St., Fitchburg. Burial will be at St. Bernard's Cemetery.
