Francis Goguen Obituary

Francis W. Goguen of Leominster, avid fisherman; 65 LEOMINSTER Francis W. Goguen, 65, of Leominster, died Wednesday, September 10, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 28, 1942, in Fitchburg, son of the late Alfred and Mary (LeBlanc) Goguen, and has lived in the Fitchburg and Leominster area his entire life, making friends too numerous to mention along the way. He was a longtime employee of Victory Supermarkets before a disability shortened his career in the mid-1970's. A loving husband, father, grandfather and (recently) a great-grandfather, family was his top priority. His genuine nature made a lasting impression upon all that knew him and he will be terribly missed. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid fisherman who regularly patrolled the waterfront at Lake Whalom. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Mary Linda (Babineau) Goguen; 1 son, Kevin Goguen and his wife, Mary of Leominster; 2 daughters, Elizabeth Hughey of Wilton, New Hampshire, and Tina Vaillancourt and her husband, Steven of Rindge, New Hamphire; 1 brother, Raymond and his wife, Simmone of Mobile, Alabama; and 1 sister, Rita Prince and her husband, Frederick of Sarasota, Florida. He was predeceased by his brothers, Placid, Arthur, Alfred and Zoel, and his sisters, Leona Goguen, Dora Hastings, and Lorraine Bronson. He leaves behind 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. GOGUEN The funeral will be held Saturday, September 13, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster. Dear Linda, Beth, Tina, Kevin & family,
It was very hard hearing about Gigi. He was my favorite uncle, always smiling himself, and making everyone laugh. I adored the times when he and my dad would be together. You could see the love they shared as brothers and we always enjoyed the stories they would tell of their childhood. He will be missed dearly. My family's prayers are with all of you, not just now, but always. We know Gigi is in a better place free of any pain or suffering. He was a great man and his memories will go on in our family, as I have told my children many stories about their pepere's brother,my uncle Gigi, and how special of a man he was. Love to all of you. God Bless!

I am so very saddened to hear of Mr. Goguen's passing. The last time I saw you all was at Tina's wedding. He was so proud, and we had fun chatting and he was so happy that Tina, Becca and I turned out well! I spent many happy times in your home as a young girl. I remember the love between Linda and Franny, and I will always remember the Elvis painting in your basement. God Bless you all. Much love, Debbie

Linda and family,

Mary and I send our deepest sympathies. Growing up with Franny ("Gigi"), and Raymond and playing together at Allen Place was a major part of my childhood. I have so many great memories specially of Gigi and I visiting Rita & Fred at Islip, Long Island. He will be dearly missed and very fondly remembered.

WE send our prayers to you at this sad time. Franny was always a good sport and will be missed. Altho we moved with his grand-kids and recently a new grand-daughter to Indiana, he and Linda came here often to visit. I like to think that he had a good time and is at last in a place without pain and suffering. God bless you all
