Betty Armstrong Obituary

Betty W. Armstrong lifelong resident of Fitchburg, 85 Fitchburg Betty W. (Woods) Armstrong, 85 died Sunday, September 14th in the Hillcrest Nursing Home Fitchburg. Betty was born in Fitchburg on April 17, 1923 daughter of Charles E. and Marion (Wyeth) Woods. She was a lifelong resident of Fitchburg. Mrs. Armstrong graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1941 and from Burbank Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. Before retiring years ago she had worked at Burbank Hospital for over 23 years. She had been a member of Eastern Star, Rollstone Congregational Church and had been a member of the Board of Directors for the Cedar Street Home. Her husband Duane Armstrong died in 1989. She leaves a son Bruce Armstrong of Fitchburg, a daughter Donna VanHillo of Fitzwilliam N.H., a brother William Woods of Lynn, a granddaughter Deborah Linder of North Grafton MA., nieces and nephews. ARMSTRONG The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at 11:00am in the Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St. Fitchburg. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery Fitchburg. A calling hour will be held from 10 am until 11am in the funeral home. (www.aubuchon-moorcroftfuneralhome.com)

Bruce & Donna, Sorry to learn of your mother's death. I'd have attended the funeral but I only learned the news this morning. I remember your mother as a strong person with a strong will, and I know you will miss her greatly. I wish you the best.
