Constance Crosby Obituary

Constance J. Crosby of Fitchburg; 92 Fitchburg Constance J. (Gagnon) Crosby, 92, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Health Alliance-Leominster, after a brief illness She was born in Fitchburg, November 11,1915 to Arthur and Anna (Desmarais) Gagnon and was raised in Fitchburg. She attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School Class of 1934. After graduation she traveled extensively with her aunt and worked in her aunt's bridal shop in Kennebunkport, Me. She had also attended Butler University in Indiana. In 1942 she married Rufus F. Crosby and lived in Rhode Island during their early years of marriage, and returned to live in Fitchburg at the end of WWII. A gifted seamstress, cook and homemaker, her true joy was the love of her family. A member of the greatest generation who lived her life with quiet determination and courage. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Rufus F. Crosby and her sister Del Passarelli. She is survived by her son John Crosby of Bella Vista, Arkansas, her daughter Connie J. Williams of Fitchburg, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. CROSBY All funeral services will be private at her family's request. Any one wishing to make a donation you may donate in her memory to National Glaucoma Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, P.O. Box 1962 Clarksburg, Md. 20871-1962. There are no calling hours. The Lavery Chartrand & Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., is assisting the family with final arrangements.

To my dear friend Connie,
I am sadden by the loss of your Mother. I knew her as "Connie's Mom". I hold a fond memory of her at one of our driveway yard sales. I admired her courage and strength. She has left Mother Earth to a much better place in the loving care of the Great Spirit.
