Bernice Martin

Bernice Martin of Fitchburg; 82 FITCHBURG Bernice (Albert) Martin, 82, of Fitchburg, passed away on October 8, 2008, at UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, MA. Bernice was born on January 28, 1926 in Madawaska, Maine, daughter of Ambroise and Zelia (Morneault) Albert. After graduation from Madawaska High School in 1944, she worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C. and then, as a laboratory technician in New York City. She married Neal Martin in 1950 in Madawaska, ME. They moved to Fitchburg in 1959. Bernice spent most of her life caring for and enjoying her children and grandchildren. She is remembered for her boundless love, her generosity, and warm heart. Bernice is survived by her husband of 58 years, Neal Martin; three sons, Steve and his wife, Cheryl, Craig and his wife, Sandy, and Daniel and his wife, Cathy; three daughters, Lisa, Carol and her husband, Jesse, and Ellen and her husband, Paul; along with 15 grand-children. She is also survived by her twin sister, Bernette, sisters, Pat and Chatte; and her brother, Babe. Her brother, Elmo predeceased her in 2005. MARTIN Calling hours will be held from 4-6 P.M. on Friday, October 10 at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, MA. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 11, at St. Joseph's Church, 46 Woodland Rd., Fitchburg. Burial in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery will be private.
