Aleck Solovei Obituary

Aleck Solovei lifelong resident of Leominster; 89 Lunenburg Aleck Solovei, 89, of Lunenburg, died Sunday evening, October 26, in the River Terrace Healthcare Center in Lancaster. He was born in Fitchburg, on February 23, 1919, a son of the late Adam and Elizabeth (Machmovicz) Solovei and has lived in Lunenburg all of his life. Mr. Solovei was retired from the Hollingsworth-Vose Paper Co. in Fitchburg since 1990. He was a member of the Aurora Lodge of Masons in Fitchburg where he was a past Master and was also a 32nd degree Mason with membership in the Royal Arch Chapter as well as the Aleppo Shriners. He was also a member of the Exchange Club of Lunenburg. His wife of 61 years, Irene T. (Ovaska) Solovei died in 2006. He leaves a daughter, Betty S. Haviland of Grafton, four grandchildren, Kristen Haviland of Grafton, Eric Haviland of Jamaica Plain, Sonja Haviland of San Francisco, CA and Keith Haviland of Worcester; a brother, John Solovei of Lunenburg and a sister Olga Wolfe of Cordova, IL. SOLOVEI Per Mr. Solovei's wishes there will be a memorial service held at a later date at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lunenburg Historical Society, 10 School St., Lunenburg, MA 01462. www.masciarellifamilyfuneralhomes.net.The Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarellli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave. is directing the funeral arrangements.
