Frank A. Cordio

Frank A. Cordio enjoyed carpentry and woodworking; 80 Lunenburg Frank A. Cordio, 80, of Lunenburg, died Wednesday in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after an illness. He was born on May 24,1928 in Fitchburg, the son of Antonio and Winifred (Lothrop) Cordio and lived most of his life in Lunenburg. Frank was a truck driver for over 45 years and retired from Starr Container in 1995. He served in the Navy during WWII. He served as an Auxiliary police officer for the town of Lunenburg ,he was a member of the Teamsters Local 170, and a member of the Lunenburg Police Relief Association and donated his time for many years with their ham and bean dinners to benefit the dept. and it's charity's. He also enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He was an avid Red Sox fan. Mr. Cordio is survived by his wife of 60 years Edna (Barber) Cordio; his son James F. Cordio and his wife Annmarie of Lunenburg; his daughter Sandra A. and her husband Charles Gallant of Lunenburg; two brothers, Louis Cordio and Richard Cordio, both of Fitchburg; three sisters Maryetta Palmer of Fitchburg, Louise Smith in Tuscon AZ and Gloria Koski of East Hartford, Ct. He also leaves four grandchildren, Christina Senecal and her husband James, Bethany Moore and her husband C.J., Joseph Talty and his wife Desiree, and James Cordio; two great grandchildren, Nicole Walker and Riley Moore along with several nephews and nieces. CORDIO Calling hours will be held on Friday evening November 28, 2008 from 5 until 7pm at the Lavery Chartrand & Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery Fitchburg, will be at a later date.
