Charles E. Proctor Fitchburg, Trailways Bus retiree, Navy vet; 82 FITCHBURG Charles E. Proctor, 82, of Fitchburg, passed away on November 21, 2008 in Hillcrest Nursing Center. He leaves his stepson, Thomas E. Cavins and his wife, Maryann of Leominster, two stepdaughters, Judith A. Caputi of Clinton, and Deborah L. Dawson and her husband, Ronald of Leominster; a grandson, Michael Stemler and his wife, Monica of Leominster; a granddaughter, Kristin Mathieu and her husband, Bruce of Ashburnham; a sister, Nancy Bayliss of Florida; a nephew, Charles Bayliss of Mansfield; and three great-grandchildren. Charles was born in Fitchburg, son of Charles H. and Sabina W. (Wilson) Proctor, and worked for Trailways Bus Co. where he was known as "Subway Charlie" for many years until his retirement. He also served in The U.S. Navy. PROCTOR Funeral services for Charles are private. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is handling arrangements.
