Brandon Martinez Obituary
He was born on July 18, 1991, in Leominster, and was the son of Julio Martinez and Tracey Sidilau. Brandon was a sophomore at Leominster High School and a member of St. Leo’s Parish in Leominster. He was a really fun kid to be around, he enjoyed playing video games, watching television, going to the movies, playing paintball with his friends and basketball games in his backyard. Brandon loved spending time with his family, especially going to his grandma’s house for his favorite food steak.
He is going to be dearly missed by his family and his friends.
Brandon is survived by his mother, Tracy Sidilau of Leominster, and his father, Julio Martinez of Winchester, N.H.; a step-brother, Julian Martinez of Winchester, N.H.; his paternal grandparents, Manfredo and Iris M. Martinez of Bethlehem, Pa.; his paternal great-grandparents, Julian and Maximina Martinez; his maternal grandparents, Bruce and Patricia Sidilau of Leominster; his maternal great-grandmother, Betty J. McCumber of Lancaster; and his maternal great-grandmother Ruth Sidilau of Leominster; his aunt, Kim Mills and her husband, Andy, of Leominster; his uncles, Bruce Sidilau Jr. and his wife, Brenda, Brad Sidilau and Bryan Sidilau, all of Leominster; and many cousins.
MARTINEZ -- The funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 12, from the Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St. in Leominster with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anna Church, 199 Lancaster St. in Leominster. Burial will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery in Leominster. Calling hours will be Sunday, Feb. 11, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brandon T. Martinez Memorial Fund c/o TD Banknorth Attn: Patricia Sidilau, 15 Monument Square, Leominster, MA 01453.

I had the fortune of watching Brandon grow up for a few years, And I know he had a wonderful life with his Mother and his friends. Dear Tracy, We know there are NO words for your sorrow. Peter and myself wish we could say we don't understand how you feel, but unfortunately we do. When our Victoria Shannon was taken suddenly from us last February 28, we hoped that the insanity would end with us, that none of our friends would have to share in what it feels to lose their child, and a piece of their heart, too. I remember Brandon from the softball field about 6 years ago, when he would come to the games to watch his uncles and aunt who LOVE him so much play, and he would sit quietly and watch. From all accounts, he turned into such a wonderful young man, and I wish I had had the chance to meet him now. The only thing I can tell you is that I know one little Angel named Victoria who was there to welcome Brandon in Heaven, and it gives me some comfort to think they are watching over us together. To Brandons family: I lost my 8 year old son, Joshua Payne, 10 years ago in April. I know it does not seem like it now, but you will get through this and be able to talk about him without crying. It takes time and patience. My advice is to talk about Brandon as much as you can, to everyone that will listen! Tell the world how wonderful your son was, how much he was loved by everyone, and of all the good things you can remember about him! Dont let his memory die with him, keep him alive in everyones hearts by speaking of him often! It WILL get easier, but the hurt will never go away completely. Judging by all the things I have read about Brandon, you should both be very proud. Proud of the fine young man he was, and proud of the job you both did in raising him.
Perhaps at this most difficult time you can take some solace knowing your child made a difference in the lives of the people around him. Can we ask for more as parents?

Brandon: You will always be the apple of your Father's eye. I will always remember you with a smile when I visit your Dad, Julian and Anne and how much you loved visiting them in the "woods of NH". I got a kick out of the fact that you enjoyed lighting fireworks in the yard with your Dad. I know that you're Julian's Guardian Angel now.
