Mr. McGee was born in Fitchburg on Aug. 4, 1949, a son of the late James H. and Marjorie E. (Morrilly) McGee Sr., and grew up in Townsend. He was a 1967 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend. He attended St. John’s Church in Townsend.
Following his high school graduation, Mr. McGee entered the United States Marine Corps, and served two years as a radioman in Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam, Mr. McGee contracted encephalitis, later rendering him disabled and unable to pursue other employment opportunities. He was a life member of the Townsend VFW.
He is survived by two brothers, Thomas F. McGee of Sandown, N.H., and Peter McGee of the Bahamas. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
MCGEE -- A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, St. John’s Church, 1 School St., Townsend. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, West Townsend. A visitation period will be 8:30-9:30, prior to the Mass at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Route 119, Townsend. Please see andersonfuneral.com for additional information.
