Freda Oliver Obituary
Freda was born in Sheffield, England, on Aug. 17, 1911, the daughter of Charles and Lily (Jackson) Oliver, and came to the United States and Fitchburg in 1917. She was employed for many years at the former Simonds Saw and Steel Co., now Simonds Industries, and retired in 1973. She was a member of the Simonds Veterans Association and the Daniel Simonds Recreational Association.
Freda was a faithful and giving member of the former First Methodist Church, now Faith United Parish, and the A.A.R.P.
Freda leaves her cousin, Gertrude Cribben of Fitchburg; and very close friends, Robert and Patricia Goguen of Fitchburg. Her brother, Robert Newsholme, predeceased her.
OLIVER -- A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in her name, may be made to Faith United Parish, 820 Main St., Fitchburg, MA 01420. Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St., is assisting the family.
