I remember when St. Henry church and school were built and when completed I transferred from Sacred Heart to Saint Henry. Fr. Hoevel and my father Charles Lebrato were very good friends and I remember what a nice man Fr. Hoevel was. He encouraged me to be an alter boy and though he was strict he was caring and kind. Rest in Peace, Fr. Hoevel.

Father Hoevel performed our marriage in October of 1978. He was a wonderful man. I appreciated his sense of humor and his ready smile. By the way - when Fr. Hoevel married ya - you stayed married. (smile) We'll celebrate 30 yrs this year. I fondly remember Fr. Hoevel. My sympathy to his family.
