To the family of Sgt. Major. Wardell I'm sorry for your loss and extend condolences. G
I first met Sgt. Major. On a hot, sweaty, humid, and miserable day at Fort Leonardwood while he ever so gently tossed my duffle bag off the cattle car and letting me know I'm next if I don't get moving.
As a drill Sgt. He found a way to challenge me and find one more rep, one faster lap and to dig deeper.
There's so much to be said about him. He's single handedly was the reason I wanted to make SSG. in less than 3 years.
Drill our platoon picture still hangs in my office to this day.
Rest in paradise

I recently found the coin that Wardell gave me when I left Afghanistan. I was the aide de camp for General Wendell, and often rode on convoys with Wardell. I could have easily been on that convoy with him. Wardell was a true leader and friend. My sincere condolences to your family.

Dear Turner family,
I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Wardell will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed.
But I salute you; allow me the honor to salute you with permission let me say. Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part. I salute you.
For those missing in action;for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor to salute you with permission let me say even though I hold no rank know that from my heart my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Crookston Family know that we recently made a small donation to the SGM Wardell Turner Memorial Fund in honor of Wardell B. Turner US Army Command Sergeant Major. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family
