Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Adamkavicius Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Clayton L. Adamkavicius US Army Captain. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Clayton,

I just cannot believe it's been 10 years since you were taken from us.

I know I'm far from alone when I say you are missed just as much now as you were a decade ago.

I'll never forget that horrible day I learned of your death. So wrong in so many ways but, God must have needed you in Heaven for something very important.

I will always love you and miss you.

I will forever be grateful for your friendship, your sense of humor & kind heart. There will never be a day that passes that your sacrifice will be absent from the hearts & minds of those who knew you, served alongside you & loved you. Gone but never forgotten.

My Dearest Clayton,

It's been almost 3 years since you made the ultimate sacrifice for your country (ya, who needs to tell you, right?)...and for us who live here and love it too....I know I am not as brave as you, my friend, not many are or could be, but I thank you for your service and for your ultimate sacrifice for our country and, I will always love you with all my heart and I will never forget you or what you did for our country. How could any of us who knew you and loved you ever forget you or what you did for us? You're always in my thoughts, my heart and in my prayers and I hope some day, we meet in Heaven...if I am that honored. God bless you!!! God bless your family and I pray God gives them peace, knowing you died for this country...a cause you decided on long ago....we are forever grateful to you. Thank you can simply never be enough...I love you...also, it can never be enough to say that to you but, honestly, from my heart, thank you....I wish you were still here. I miss you more than you can ever know. We who love you, well, we accept what happened and we all miss you and love you too...again, more than you can ever know...unless Heaven enables you to know our hearts and silent thoughts and prayers....

Your friend for eternity...and beyond.

Dear Brave Capt. Adamkavicius,

To go to war is one of the greatest hardships a person may face. To command troops on the battlefield must be so much more difficult. You died with the people you led, true blue to the end. Go take your place among the courageous who've given up their safety for their fellow man. Brave Captain, we mourn your loss. Rest in peace for your job is done. We salute you soldier.

To the Adamkavicius Family,

It is hard for me to find the correct words to sum up my thoughts as I write this entry because it has been so long since Clay and I served together. I was his Company Commander in the Nevada Army National Guard and Clay was my finest Platoon Leader. Clay was a true leader of men and a dear friend to many, and I was proud of the job that he did. He was professional, he was a deep thinker, he was trusted by all. I was sad the day he left my unit and heartbroken the day he left this Earth.

I will always think of Clay as my brother and friend.

Goodbye Clay. We will meet again.

May 29, 2008

We are so grateful for your service for our safety and freedom!

You are remembered and respected. Thank you Capt Adamkavicius!

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers today.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Clayton, but I am remembering on
this day he gave his all.
He is my hero.

Sincerely,

Its being almost 26 years, since Clayton had come to spend sometime with us in Brazil! Today, for an unjustified reason, I heard that he is not with us anymore. Being an oncologist we suppose to be ready to face death more commonly than others. My mind through this whole day has traveled back to the time we spent together in here, Sao Paulo.
We sure have had a wonderful time together. He studied with my brother in High School, he was an exchanged student at the time, and at the end of my brother’s program, Clayton traveled back with him to stay with us. We were teenagers at the time. So, describing all the adventures we had in here will be a quite long story. After he left, life drove us apart! I never heard from him.
Life is a crazy thing to be shortly explained. A person that we let away in our lives brings comfort to know that even with the absence, the person still alive in some part of this globe.
Today, I heard indeed that I have lost a part of my history. Clayton is not among us, and is not some place in this crazy and fanatic World anymore. But, thank God, in my mind, I have the memories of our laughs, of our great life while in here. Thank you Clayton, for all those great moments you let us share together.
Shall all the angels, to receive you with a stand up applause for the life you may have had. And from where you are, send the whisper of comfort for those who were left in here. I hope these note will allow them to know, that you have a part of you in our hearts in South America. So long my friend, from your friend Milo, in this sad Brazilian night! So long!

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To the Family of Capt Clayton Adamkavicius, please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. I was stationed on Guam, with Clay in the Line Delivery shop (Nov 86 - Jan 89). I remember him to be very easy going, very easy to get along with and alot of fun to be around. It was very easy for me to look up to him. He was a wonderful person and a good friend. I know words do not help the pain much right now but later, when you look back on this guest book, you will know that he and his family is still loved and missed so very much. I know you may not know me but I offer my help and support. If there is anything I can do just email me. Please accept my condolences.

Very recently I was deeply saddened to learned of your loss.

A few years ago I had the honor of working with (then) LT Adamkavicius.

He was a good officer, who took his responsibilities very seriously. He was a good leader, willing to work alongside his men and lead by example in order to accomplish the mission. The military needs more good men like him.

My deepest sympathies to the Adamkavicius family, to Clay's Friends and to those he served with. Clay was such a good friend. I miss talking with him. He always seemed to have a way to make me smile. I think of him often and his memory still can make me smile. I miss him. O Lord, Eternal rest grant him and let perpetual light shine upon him. God Bless you all, Kay Langedyke (Soda Springs, Idaho)
