Many years ago I was asked to be a horse entry judge for the Redding Asphalt Cowboys Rodeo Parade. That was when I first met Fred Boone. He was always very organized and was an extremely pleasant and a genuinely nice person. He always appreciated the judges and made sure that we all got a nice lunch after the parade was over. I was a judge for many years and Fred was always the same. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I remain ever-saddened by the memory of the tragedy at Virginia Tech. My oldest brother, F. Richard Drennan (RIP) was a graduate from VT in the early/mid 40s. He and his classmates were all handsome cadets and later officers in WW II. They would have been horrified at the events of 2007, as they LOVED their college and their classmates, as well. We have beautiful pictures of our brother and others in their cadet uniforms. I am certain they would be saddened in their heavenly abodes by that earlier occurrence. May those who died in that tragic shooting rest in the peace of their Lord and Savior. And may those families who lost their dear loved ones find some earthly peace until they are all joined in heavely holiness one day. With love and prayful caring - Ann (Drennan) Forsyth

I would like to light a candle for each and every victim of the Virginia Tech shooting and especially for Ross A. Alameddine a former neighbor and playmate of my children. I think of his family often and know that their memories will always be that of the happy 20 year old person that they lost that fateful day 5 years ago today. God bless you all.

April 16, 2012

Take comfort in the words of Psalms 37:10..."And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.

To all the families who lost loved ones that day my deepest sympathy. My daughter and son-in-law were there and today as graduates of Virginia Tech, they still remember and carry the tragedy, but, they also give back to our great nation with the wonderful skills they sought and obtained from Virginia Tech. I know they wish their lost friends were with them now. I know that I will be ever grateful for god's grace on them that day. I will not forget your sorrow.
