News Death Notice
HOWELL, John Age 78, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday May 6, 2009 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born to the late John H. and Nettie (Reynolds) Howell on May 13, 1930. John was employed at Champion Papers for 17 years. He then began his real estate career and eventually opened his own business; John Howell Realty in which he was extremely successful. He retired in 1996. John was a member of the Benjamin Franklin No. 17 F. & A. M. where he just received his 50 year pin. He also belonged to the Hamilton Elks Lodge #93 where he spent many enjoyable days playing golf and cards with his friends. John is survived by his beloved wife, Mary F. (Frankie) Howell; daughter, Sandra (Larry) Wirtley; son, Michael (Tina) Howell; grandchildren, Rachel Howell and Sean Howell; step-grandchildren, Larry Wirtley II and Starla Wirtley; brother in law, Wilbert Hillman as well as nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Price Howell; sister, Thelma Drury and sister in law, Betty Hillman. Services are private at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be designated to Redeemer Church, 3431 Hamilton-Middletown Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011.
