Dear Wehr Family,

My parents and I would like to extend our deepest and sincere sympathy to all of you. I started coming to Frau Wehr’s house for German lessons in 1994 when I was 11 years old. These lessons continued on a regular basis until I left for Vassar College in 2001. Frau Wehr was a great mentor and inspiring teacher, who opened so many doors of opportunity for me. For this I will be forever grateful. I miss her dearly and she will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Helga, you are not gone because we will always think of you and remember the moments our lives were crossed. We will miss our visits and hikes on Bolton Mountain with you. Life changes and time passes but we will cherish the memories of good times. As 2007 comes to a close, may we all be inspired to honor your memory with how we live in 2008.

Dear Wehr Children,

We were so very sorry to hear of your loss. Helga was my boss at the German School of CT until I became hers (which could have been awkward but wasn't). She also taught my son Jeremy before he joined the German School. We were very glad to hear that you were with her until the end. We won't forget her.

With deep sadness I just read the transition on our dearest great German teacher, and sincere friend, Helga. We have already started our prayers for her, which we will continue for several days. I am sure master Jesus received her full of love, just as she gave to all those who were lucky enough to have known her. Unfortunately, we are in Florida for the holidays and will not be able to attend the services, but we will keep her in our minds and hearts for ever. May God give you confort on your loss. Sincerely, Ricardo Menendez,
