Dear David, Krista, Lincoln, David, Aunt Peg, Uncle Jim, Sandy and Jimmy - my deepest sympathy to you all during this difficult time. To loose a loved one is difficult enough, but when it is so sudden and unexpected, it makes it harder to understand. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Krista, I was away all last week and when I came back Christine told me the shocking and sad, sad news about the passing of your mom. I am stunned. You know your mom and I had a great time together on the Quebec trip and I always felt connected to her after that. When we would see each other, we would always laugh with a knowing look. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this most difficult time. I see you are in college at Suffolk, good for you! Find some comfort through family and friends right now. My prayers are with you - Fondly, Mrs. Hunt

As one of Joann's many cousins, I am saddened by her passsing. I only wish that I had been fortunate enough to have grown up closer to her. I can see what I missed by reading the wonderful things that are written by those who knew and loved her. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with each and every one of you, and most especially, Aunt Peggy, Uncle Jim, Jimmy, Sandy, David, Lincoln & Krista. It sounds as if heaven has a very special Angel at home.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Joann. Joann and I met at Marshalls where we both worked during the high school years. She was a wonderful friend. Her laugh was contagious and she was the most thoughtful and considerate person. She will be terribly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Joann and her family.

Joann and I had many good times in High School with our group of friends. I can't believe one of our group is gone.

We had talked about a "Marshalls" reunion but had been putting it off until we "lost a few more pounds" I wish we hadn't waited. You always think you have tomorrow.

Joann will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Dave,
I'm so sorry. Life prepares us for many things, but nothing can prepare us for the unexpected death of a loved one. You'll be in my thoughts and in my prayers.

The loss of Joann is so sudden. I saw her face before me all night as I struggled to accept that the light in her twinkling blue eyes is gone. How is it possible to reconcile this unkind fact with fond memories. I see her laughing, always warm walking out after work without a coat. I see her combing the newspaper on the lookout for a story idea. I see her intelligence and grace shining in her face. She was so very, very proud of her children, although it wasn't her way to brag. Her parents and family should know that Joann had many friends. She was highly respected for her special way of bringing humanity and insight into a story. I feel honored to have known her and laughed with her. She will be missed by so many people, her co-workers and her readers among them. The prayers of her friends are with the family. How is this possible? Mother's Day will be heartbreaking and my heart goes out to you.
Sincerely,

Wanda Wooten

JoAnn was like no other. Even though she liked to remain out of the limelight, her presence was and is still everywhere and her spirit is in the forefront of everyone's minds.
Her smile, her infectious and hearty laugh and her ability to bring peace and calm to a world full of chaos will always be cherished.
She was my co-worker and, I am proud to say, my friend.
I miss you Jo, more than you can imagine and hope that you are in a place worthy of you now.

Dear Krista and family,

I am deeply sorry for the loss you are feeling with the death of your mother. Although I never met her, I feel like I did through you Krista and the many times you were over my home with Britt and how often you spoke about her. Know that you are in our hearts and prayers and we are here for you if there is anything we can do. We love you!
