It has truly been my honor to sign Benjamin's guest book these past few years. Unfortunately, due to complications from my Multiple Sclerosis, this may be the last message I'm able to write. Please forgive me and know that Benjamin will always be remembered in my home.

Dearest Ben,

So much time has passed already and it seems like only yesterday that I got the news. I miss you so much and not a day goes by that you are not in my thoughts. I always talk about Uncle Ben to my son and daughter...Sophia and Tommy and regret that you were never able to meet them. You would love them! And they would absolutely have fallen in love with you! I had lunch with your mom a few weeks ago and it felt so nice to see her. What I wouldn't give to be little and carefree again and playing in our backyard with you! I miss you and love you always and will never forget you.

Love, Tara

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Over 1,800 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,

It is difficult to know what to say since I want to express my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Sgt Gilman. Please know that your loved one is not forgotten. I wish everyone impacted by this tragic loss strength and peace. I hope that Sgt Gilman knew that there are people in America who respect his great courage in serving as a member of the US military. Although I did not know him, I know that he must have been a very special person to be willing to do something that most Americans will never have to experience, and for that we can never say thank you enough.
Thank you Sgt Gilman!

Dear Gilman Family,

I realize there is NOTHING that could be said to you that could ever ease the loss that your family has endured... I wouldn't even begin to try.

I simply felt the need to convey my deepest, heart felt condolences, to those that lived nearest me...

I SIMPLY HAD TO reach out to those that lived closest to me and let their families know that the sacrifice that their SONS & DAUGHTERS have made ARE NOT, and WILL NOT be forgotten, and were not made in vain!

We gladly add your beloved son to our prayers, along with ALL of our other fallen Sons & Daughters!

God Bless YOU and YOUR FAMILY, and "MAY THE PEACE OF THE LORD BE WITH YOU!"

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

To the Gilman Family,
I want to express my deepest and most sincerist sympathy for the loss of your dear loved one. There are no human words whether quantity or by quality or no human action whether how great or significant that can suffice, suppress, or minimize in the least bit the abrupt and premature loss of any loved one and especially one as bright, as positive, and enthusiastic as Ben. I'm so sorry for your loss and almost as equally so for not contacting you all sooner. My name Robert Bond, I was Ben's squad leaders at Ft. Drum when he was in 1st squad, 2 Platoon A co. prior to him switching to 3rd Platon and his deployment to Kosovo. I had already left Drum and was at Bragg getting ready to go to Iraq when one of my fiends still at Drum, Mike Behnkendorf, called and told me. I want to wish you all the continual ever calming peace of God's all sufficient Grace to continually keep you. Though you will never find true healing for with his absense so lies also a missing piece of your hearts, you kind find peace, strength, thanksgiving for allowing God to bring Ben into exsitence for our pleasure, joy, and blessing. May I personally extend my thankfulness not for Ben's sacrifice alone for our country but also for your sacrifice in sharing your son for our country and the betterment of all mankind. May God truly bless you all!!!

Forever Connected to you all through your outstanding son and loved one Ben,

Robert

I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to write on here, but I had just found this site recently. I am now stationed in Ft. Hood, TX. SGT Gil was a good man, and a good friend. I miss him.

I wanted to let you know that I am sorry for the loss of your son. Ben was a very close friend of mine. I work at a salon in the mall and every week he would be in for a hair cut. We shared some wonderful times together while he was at Fort Drum and kept in touch through letters while he was in Afghanistan. Its so hard to beleive hes gone, but I know he is in Gods hands now. Ben died a Hero and he will always have a place in my heart. God bless.
