Our heartfelt sympathy to the Holt Family for the loss of their loved one. I knew Jim from West Point Class of 1949. A dear friend and a fellow West Point classmate. He will surely be missed by all who knew him very well.

I owe my freedom and life to Jim.25 years ago I was involved in a horrible incident where a persons life was lost.If it had not been for Jims knowledge of the law ,determination and belief in me, my life would be far different than it is today.I owe him for finding the truth and a just verdict and returning me to my family. He was truly an Honorable and Honest man.And in todays world we are seeing fewer men of his character.God Bless you sir.I will never forget you.My days will be a little less bright knowing your not here. You were my friend and mentor.

Dear Dot,
I was saddened to hear of the death of Mr. Holt. He was truly a light in the County Attorney's office during my days there - bringing fun and laughter into the office with his dry sense of humor and sharp wit. (you had to be smart to get his humor!) He made me laugh many times by pointing out the humor in things.
I remember what he used to tell us, after he gave his notice ... "You'll miss me when I'm gone." And he was right.
(In fact, we even did a little book with pictures I'd taken of him over the years. I can't imagine that I would have gotten rid of it... so if I ever come across that, I'll send you a copy.)
Mr. Holt was truly a good and decent man - and a pretty darn good lawyer, too :o) I know you will miss him a lot, but I also know you have LOTS of good memories of your life together. I'm so thankful to hear that you all traveled and took trips together... those memories will be with you forever.
I would have been at the funeral, had I known, but I just talked to Betty (my cousin who worked with us, and also at the JP's office) and just found out about his passing.
Am sending much love and prayers your way; I know our Lord will hold you up during this time.
Love, hugs and prayers,
Cindy

Dot, Believing God is your courage and strength during this transition. I have only been a widow for 3 months. Death has a domino effect on the whole family. Your own personal journey in and through grief and sorrow will change your perspective about life and the people around you. You have traveled through this journey before as a young woman, now in the twilight years of your life you will once again face the separation and void you experience at the death of your loved one. The emptiness can only be filled by the divine presences of your Lord and Savior. Believing He will be your comfort in the hours ahead. You took great care of Jim and nurtured him through his illness. You gave the best of yourself to serve and help in his time of need. You encouraged him when his spirits were low. You did all to make him comfortable during the final days. May God bless you for being a faithful, caring, and considerate wife. Believing you will regain your strength and health. Love you much. Maxine
