Mrs. Sirmons and family,
My daughter Michelle and I were deeply saddened to hear of Dick's passing. It was always nice to look and see Dick in line at rider registration. Even though our time spent together was brief and no matter what kind of day I was having, he was always a pleasure. He was a wonderful man and his GNCC family will surely miss him. You have my and my family's heartfelt sympathy. Rest in Peace Dick.

Dick and I talking before race - July 2008

Although Dick and I just met last year when we lined up next to each other at the GNCC races, it seemed as though we had known each other our entire lives. We raced hard against each other and visited before and after each race. Dick's quick smile, cheerful mood, and enthusiasm for competition made our competition against each other one of the great highlights of my long career in racing. I was hoping to get a chance to visit him off the track. I know he must have a wonderful family who will miss him so much - my heart goes out to all in Dick's family and his friends as well. He is riding the perfect trails in heaven and will have the best ones picked out for us. My brother-in-law took a wonderful photo of Dick and I talking before this year's race in Somerset, PA that I will post here. Godspeed, Dick.

I met Dick just a few months ago, but the memories of him at the races are forever etched to my memory. He brought a smile to everyone's face, and he could make a great meal on his Coleman camping equipment! I knew he was a wonderful man after only a few minutes of talking to him, mainly because he spoke so highly of his family. He was very proud to have a loving family who supported the hobby he enjoyed. You could hear the love in his voice, and it touched my heart to listen to him.

My thoughts & prayers are with you through this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

I feel truely blessed to have known such a sincere and fair gentleman. I will forever remember Dick for his genuine compassion and ethics. Though I have known Dick for only a few short years, I have enjoyed every single opportunity to kid with him on the phone and to meet with him at various business meetings. Peggy, my thoughts are with you.

Peggy
I was very sad to hear that we had lost a great friend. We competed in business in a friendly and respectful way, and then carried on the competition on an unforgettable fishing trip. Marla and I will always remember that special evening that we shared in Florida.

Peggy,

I have had the honor and privilege to work with Dick over the past fifteen years as business associates. He has always been a man of his word and such a pleasure to work with.

I met with him a couple of months back and he couldn't say enough about how proud he was of Karen and the goals and dreams she had about her future. My thoughts and prayers are with you both during this most difficult time.

Jan and I are so sorry to hear of Dickey's passing. He was a good friend who was in our wedding as an usher in 1970. We went to Valdosta High together and Dickey and I used to hang out on the weekends, trying to stay out of trouble. He was a fine friend and wonderful person. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with you and the rest of the family.
