Dear Olga and Casey,

It has been years since my Amanda and your Cody first made friends, maybe as many as 15...Since that time, my family has been so fortunate to have Casey in our lives and with that, the lovely influence of Casey's big brother, Cody. April has always spoken of how genuine and just plain nice Cody always was to her and how no matter where he showed up, everyone was happy to see him. I have no doubt that he has made positive influences on lives, and isn't that what we want for our children? To guide them to make a positive influence on this world? Olga, you can feel proud, you should know that your son created love and friendship in many. I witnessed the family the last few days. Casey, we are your family as well and we wish you peace and joy in doing whatever your life brings you. God is holding you up until you are strong enough to hold yourself.

I was sad and shocked to hear about Cody. Cody was a wonderful person and co-worker. He was always ready to help when needed and fun to talk too. I’ve known him since the day he started at Smith. I will miss him deeply. He was a special person. My prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Though I hadn't seen Cody in more than 10 years, he and I had the chance to catch up a few weeks back and he was such a person anew. His spirit was high and his aspirations higher. When I mentioned the conversation to a friend later, he said he too had run into Cody and that they had spoken for quite some time even though neither had seen the other in years. That's a rare gift to have, the gift of enduring friendship, and Cody was blessed. Everyone he touched was, as well.

Dear Olga,
I am sure that you are trying to make sense of this unexpected tragedy.
I guess that’s where our faith must kick in and bring us through the trial of a sudden loss. But the questions, and pain, and anger, the shock … they can cloud our faith sometimes.
Remember you must have faith and believe in that Cody is resting in peace.
It’s always way too soon to see someone we love so dearly pass on. My deepest and sincerest condolences to you. My prayers for you and your family, and all those who know and love Cody. Cherish your memories, because those memories will live on in your heart forever and in time bring you comfort.....

Olga:
We were all so sad to hear about Cody's accident. Garrett and I reminisced today about how little they were when they played soccer together during elementary school and about how Cody, Garrett, Casey and Colby had so much fun hanging out together when they were little. Not too long ago Garrett ran into Cody at the mall and they reminisced about their year in my CCE class. Even though Cody was very quiet during class I do remember how polite and respectful he was of me. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and Casey in the days to come that you both will find peace to heal the hurt in your hearts.
Love, Tamara, Horace, Garrett, Colby and Austin Borak
