I could write a book about what a wonderful person Daddy Bill was, but I still don’t think I could find enough ways or enough space to convey everything my step father was. He was something different to everyone, but to probably 99% of all of the people he came into contact with in his life, he was something good and positive and he made a significant contribution to their lives. He was, without doubt, one of the best people I have ever known in my entire life, and I could not have asked for a better role model. He wasn’t perfect, but he WAS wonderful. In my selfishness, even after watching him struggling during two to three visits every week since the beginning of March, I still wish he was here, because I miss him so terribly, terribly much and I am heartbroken; but, on the other hand, knowing that he is not in pain, can breathe freely, is with Granny and, most importantly, is with Jesus fills my heart with immense joy. You were one in a trillion Daddy Bill and I will never ever forget you, even with this old broken-down brain of mine. All of my love.

Bill McDonald was a great guy and it was my pleasure to serve as an usher with him at Chapelwood United Methodist Church. As head usher, Bill was the first person to greet both members and visitors to Chapelwood's Sunday morning services for many years and he made everyone feel welcome. Bill was very unassuming, but he was a fine lawyer and friend to his clients, he had obviously been a very good football player at the University of Texas, and he was a great friend to many people. Chapelwood Methodist Church and all his friends there will miss Bill very much.

Dear Gayle and family,
Bill was a very special friend to many people, and I am blessed to have had him for a friend. The many years that we ushered together at Chapelwood were very special. Bill always smiled and uplifted the spirits of all who were around him. I will miss him dearly. May God bless you.
