Dear Cathy and family,
The memorial service for Joe was very moving. I have admired his willingness to help Cathy get to her quilt meetings over the years. He was very faithful. I know that you will all miss him very much.

Ann - My heart is with you and Connor as you move through the process of letting go of the pain of losing your father, and moving to that place where his memory will always bring a smile to your heart and your face.

To Tom and Ann:
Please accept my sympathy in the death of your father and my prayers for you both, your mom and families. This poem I wrote expresses my feelings best.

Life and Death

Death is a necessary part of life,
but never pleasant, never nice.
even when it's expected, it isn't.
They should have had a longer span
to enjoy families and time…
Do any of us have a clue
why we're really here?
Aren't we supposed to love,
actually to become Love,
so that whomever we touch is changed
because of our connection?
And we're changed because
of the loving and sharing.
Those who become Love,
who touch the ones who need it most,
are grieved over best by the
ones most changed. I believe
our capacity for grief is
directly proportional to
our capacity for love.
Dying is always easier
for the one dying.
