Sulu Kelley Obituary

CONCORD - Sulu David Kelley, 69, of 1690 Old Harmony Road, Concord, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center. There are no services scheduled for Mr. Kelley. Mr. Kelley was born Nov. 6, 1937, in Bedford, Lawrence County, Ind., to the late Randle Kelley and Iva Pruett Kelley. Mr. Kelley was a veteran of the Air Force and a retired engineer from IBM in Charlotte. Mr. and Mrs. Kelley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to China so Mrs. Kelley could hold a baby panda. Mr. Kelley was recognized for his ministry of producing out of print Wesleyan heritage commentaries on CD-ROM. He was a member of the Wesleyan-Armenian faith. Survivors include his wife, Barbara F. Kelley of Concord; sons, Sulu David Kelley II and wife, Jerri, of Marion, Ohio, and Michael A. Kelley and wife, Rebecca, of Cincinnati; daughters, Polly K. Knehr and husband, Don, of Morongo Valley, Calif., Amy Montgomery and husband, Drew, of Concord; a brother, Loren D. Kelley of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, G. Sue Myers of Cambridge, Ill., and Neva Thomas of Bedford, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Randle Kelley; and his mother, Iva Pruett Kelley. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, Cabarrus East Camp P.O. Box 902, Concord, NC 28025.
