Dave Douglass Obituary

Dave Fulton Douglass Resident of Gardnerville, NV passed away on August 18, 2010 at the age of 91 at his home in Gardnerville, NV after a brief illness. He was born on December 7, 1918 in Berkeley, CA. He grew up in Santa Rosa, CA until the family moved to Oakland,CA. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Oakland. Dave served in World War II and was a sergeant in the US Army. He married Helen Eklof on November 30, 1945. Dave was a stereotyper for the Oakland Tribune. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Douglass and many brothers and sisters. He has one surviving sister Betty Capanacci who lives in Santa Rosa, CA. Among his other survivors are daughter's Barbara (Larry/Al) Martinez of Gardnerville, NV. Teri(Mike) Ward of Irvine, CA. Three granddaughters Alison Ward, Tami Martinez and Kim Martinez and four great-grandchildren Austin, Justin, Tara and Amy. Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. At Dave's request there will be no memorial services.
