Herbert Robinson Obituary

Herbert Logie Robinson Resident of Livermore Herbert "Herb" Logie Robinson, passed away on Sept. 8, 2010 from lung cancer. He was 79 years old. Survived by his sister, Nancy Farnum, his daughter, Ann Jasper, his nephew, Mike Farnum, his niece, Chrisi Mccabe, and his stepchildren Dorothea (Dee) Reece, Irene Smith, David Jones and LaTonya Cain as well as many grandchildren, Herb will be dearly missed. Herb was born March 8, 1931 in Oakland, CA to Floyd and Marguerite Robinson. He graduated from Oakland High, served on active duty in the Army from 1951 - 1955, then earned his B.A. from the University of the Pacific, where he joined the Rhizomia (Rho Lambda Phi) fraternity. Herb worked at Standard Oil, General Business Services, and the San Francisco Arts & Education Project. In his free time, Herb could be found sailing the San Francisco Bay or racing cars. Herb married Dottie Lane of Oakland, CA, but divorced after several years. He later married Coco Alley, with whom he had a daughter, Marguerite (known by her middle name, Ann). Herb and Coco divorced in 1972. In 1983, Herb married Helene Hill, who passed away in March 2009. He then found companionship with Laura Bloch, who remained by his side until his passing. Herb will rest at the Robinson family plot at the Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy, CA. There will be a celebration of his life at Tony's Place, in Walnut Grove on Sept 21st, 2010. Memorial contributions to the San Francisco Arts and Education Project and the Hope Hospice of Dublin would be greatly appreciated.
