Mary Gutierrez May 21, 1943 - August 18, 2010 Resident of Fremont Mary passed away peacefully with her loved ones at her home in Tualatin, Oregon on August 18, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. She is survived by Patrick her loving husband of 49 years, her beloved son PJ and daughter Erinn, son-in-law Tom & beloved granddaughter Katie. Brother Fidel, sisters Virginia, Arlene and Josi, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Serfeina Herrera and Fedrenco Archuleta. She moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico , then to California, where she and Patrick wed in 1961. She Attended Los Angeles Valley College, become a court stenographer and legal Secretary. Mary then resided in Fremont, California for 32 years where her love of antiques moved her to open and operate "Nooks n Crannies", an antique and gift store. She was creative at sewing and costume design, but her true passion was her family. She was the most selfless, caring, loving person, always putting others before herself. Retiring in 2006, she and Patrick spent their time between son Patrick Jon in California, and daughter Erinn and granddaughter Katie in Oregon. Her spirit and love will nourish and sustain us until we meet again. Services will be held at the Old Mission of St. Josephs Parish in Fremont on Friday 9/24/10 at 9am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations "in Mary's memory" to ftd-picks.org for research into Picks disease.
