Jeanne Elizabeth Cromwell Jan. 27, 1923 - Sept. 20, 2010 A Resident of San Leandro Jeanne Elizabeth Cromwell entered peacefully into rest on Monday, September 20, 2010 in the company of her family and friends. She was 87 years old. Born on January 27, 1923, in Los Angeles, Ca, Jeanne graduated from high school and went to work for RKO Studios in Hollywood. One day a handsome man named Cary Grant came into her office and put his arm around her and told her he would rather be with her than a silly meeting at the studio. Devoted to her faith, Jeanne was a very active member of St. Felicitas Catholic Church and would start her day with morning prayers. After her prayers, she would read the Chronicle in her favorite chair, and loved to watch sports and horse racing. Her favorite teams were the Oakland A's, Raiders, and the Lakers. She loved music and enjoyed not only classical but Rock and Roll as well and even attended Rolling Stones concerts. She loved traveling and went to Europe many times as well as going to her family cabin in Pollock Pines. One of her favorite places was her condo in Phoenix with the view of the Black Mountains. She thoroughly enjoyed chocolate from See's Candy and had two pieces every day to give her that extra energy she seemed to always have. Jeanne was a kind and loving person who enjoyed her family most of all. Anyone that knew her was a better person. Jeanne was devoted mother of ten children and a loving grandmother of fifteen, and a great grandmother of eight. Her husband Paul and grandson Scott Reed preceded her in death. Visitation for Jeanne will be on Monday, September 27th from 5 to 8 pm at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. A vigil service will be held at 7 pm that evening at the chapel. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Felicitas Catholic Church, 1604 Manor Blvd., San Leandro.
