William Granse Obituary

William "Bill" Richard Granse Resident of San Leandro Bill left peacefully in his sleep Sunday, September 21, 2010 at Eden Hospital. Born October 20, 1924 in Seattle, Washington to Francis and Janet Granse. Moved to Oakland at age 3 and graduated from Oakland High School in 1939. Served in the Army, South Pacific 1943-1946. Attended Providence College R.I. and University of Berkeley. He joined PG&E as a Technical Engineer in Management and retired in1983 after 35 years. He was preceded in death by parents; wife Murial; sister Betty, and beloved pets. He is survived by longtime loving companion Sallie Garrison; a niece Sharon Gosch (Idaho); 3 great-nephews and many friends. During his lifetime, Bill lived every life experience to the fullest: marriage, career, hobbies, friendships, beloved pets, camaraderie, caring and giving. He maintained a keen sense of humor throughout life, while providing heart and shoulder for friends. He was a generous soul. I will miss you my dearest friend, companion. Until we meet again. He requested no services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation or The National Kidney Foundation in his memory.
