Harry Thompson Obituary

Harry Pasquale Thompson Dec. 13, 1931 - Sept. 19, 2010 Harry, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, died peacefully Sunday at his home in Livermore, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He found the love of his life, Terri, by chance when a Navy pal arranged for Terri to correspond with Harry while serving in the Korean War. After countless letters they met six months later for the first time and their story began. They married three years later and raised four wonderful children. Harry cherished his family and created a close, loving bond, which his family will be forever grateful. He enjoyed golf and bowling and made many wonderful friends. He spread happiness to everyone he met, and was deeply loved and respected. He loved children and was "Mr. T" and "Grandpa" to many, who will miss him deeply. His wit and humor will always be remembered. Harry is survived by his wife, Terri, of 57 years, his three children, Robert and his wife Donna, Greg and his wife Donna, Kathy and her husband Gerry, and his daughter-in-law, Dawn, as well as 12 loving grandchildren and 4 beautiful great-granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his son Richard and his brothers, Tom and Dick. Friends and family are invited to share and listen to stories and memories at a celebration of Harry's life at 1:00pm on Monday, September 27th at Cedar Grove Community Church, 2021 College Ave., Livermore, Ca 94550 (925) 447-2351. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory to Kaiser Martinez Hospice, 200 Muir Rd., Martinez, Ca, 94553 or to Cedar Grove Church, Livermore. Harry was a great friend over so many years. I will always remember our times the four of us spent together. We had such good times...so many laughs along the way...since 1963.
We watched our children grow into wonderful adults and then we become grandparents. How the years sped by.
This is a difficult time of our lives and it isn't easy.
Terri, my dear friend, you and I will continue our friendship and my prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.
lovingly, Marilyn Shaw

My husband, George met Harry while working at Kaiser Electronics for years. I met Harry and Terri, through George and other friends. We express our sympathy for Terri and the whole loving family.

Harry was a sweet, funny, a special friend. He will be missed! He's a great golfer and a fun traveler, as 6 other friends went to Hawaii, on vacation, years ago. We 8 had a great time!

For years he has been sending funny e-mails. We will miss that!!
