Hazel Virginia Zweifel

Hazel Virginia Zweifel A resident of San Leandro for 61 years! Mar. 16, 1921 - Sept. 24, 2010 Hazel was a devoted and loving Mother and Grandmother that set a fabulous example of working hard and then putting aside money for a vacation to Maui every year. She was involved with the California and East Bay Medical Assistance Association, while efficiently running a busy doctor's office. A talented seamstress, a sunbathing beauty, doting stage mother, gave fabulous Christmas parties, a budding writer, and a supporter of whatever her kids were involved in. She was a teacher of unconditional love, filled with love and compassion. She lived a full and diverse life filled with ups and downs; all the while smiling graciously. Aphasia silenced her, macular degeneration blinded her but she didn't want to miss a thing and was fondly referred to as the "Energizer Bunny". Hazel passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was 89. Hazel is survived by her children: Paulette Erfert, Pamela and her husband Ted Zeff, and David Zweifel: her grandchildren Donald, Grant and Tyson Erfert, Ryland Zweifel, Jennifer Krauss, one great grandson Adrian Krauss; and her devoted companion of many years Kjell. She also had a huge extended family of nieces, nephews and related grandchildren that she loved and adored.
