Eleanor Louise Hubert

Eleanor Louise Hubert Resident of Fremont, CA May 14, 1930 - Sept. 25, 2010 Eleanor Hubert passed away peacefully on Saturday, 9/25/2010, after a long struggle with failing health. She touched many lives with her smile, gentle touch and positive attitude. Eleanor was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She grew up in a loving Christian home in the area of Moosehorn, Manitoba. She married Herb Hubert on October 27, 1949. They lived in Moosehorn and Spearhill, Manitoba until immigrating with their three children to Fremont in 1963. They lived on Hamilton Way, Margery Drive, and Piper Street in Fremont. Eleanor moved to Merrill Gardens six years ago. She worked at Silliconix in Sunnyvale during the 1970's and 80's. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and friend. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family, and how she enjoyed showing off the great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, baking, knitting, gardening and reading. Her new passion at 76 became bowling. She loved going to plays, the ballet and the symphony. Eleanor and her family were members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4211 Carol Avenue, Fremont, CA. While living at Merrill Gardens, she attended church services conducted by Thom and Sara Cory. She will be dearly missed, but she rests in peace and God's loving embrace. Eleanor is survived by her children Barbara Chrisp (Dale), Jim Hubert (Donna), and Randy Hubert of Fremont, eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Lloyd & Allen Wersch of Canada, sister Ruth Kort of Canada, and sister Mildred Donaldson of Santa Barbara. Eleanor was predeceased by husband Herbert Hubert, parents Roy & Lillie Wersch, and brother Robert Wersch. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, October 10th, at 2:00 pm at Merrill Gardens, 2860 Country Drive, Fremont, CA (510-790-1645).
