Lois Nield Obituary

Lois (Hendricks) Nield Mar. 22, 1918 - Aug. 31, 2010 Former Resident of Hayward Lois passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Aug. 31, 2010. She was 92 years old, Lois was born in Alvarado, CA to Enos & Emily Hendricks. She graduated from Washington Union High School in 1935, where she worked on the school newspaper and senior yearbook. She wrote news of Alvarado, CA for the Hayward Review for 3 years; where she met & married Stanley Nield on Oct. 2, 1937. Lois was an active member of Hill & Valley Women's Club, Hayward for 25 years; Eden Garden Club, Hayward-Castro Valley, for 25 years, serving as President for 7 years. She was also President of Hayward Twelvettes, 1987-1988 & an active member along with Stanley of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Castro Valley. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, son-in-law Don Moody, brother Wilbert Hendricks, brother-in-law Reg Nield, Nephew Rod Hendricks. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Moody of Modesto, son Richard Nield (Maria) of Castro Valley, Nephew Glenn Hendricks of Union City, Grandchildren; Rich & Steven Nield, Donna Stephens, Debbie Monk & great-grandchildren Josh & Jeremy Stephens, Daniel Monk. Her life long friend, Erma Diaz of Fremont. Service to celebrate her life will be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 19179 Center St., Castro Valley on Friday, Oct. 15, 11:00 am. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to charity of choice.
