Paulette Nunes Obituary

Paulette Mae Nunes May 20, 1944 - Sept. 21, 2010 Resident of Oakland Paulette Mae Nunes slipped away peacefully after a painful battle with cancer at the age of 66. Paulette was born in Santa Barbara, California and spent most of her life in California. She left briefly in her late teens to embark on her singing career in Boston, MA. She loved to sing, sew and paint. She had a resilient spirit and a great sense of humor. She was a member of Bible Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Oakland and faithfully attended Sunday School and Bible Study classes up until she became too ill. Paulette's true self and spirit will be sorely missed by many. Beloved daughter of Betty M. DeMello, wife of the late Warren L. Nunes, Mother of Dawn M. Brown and Nana to Nicholas and Keith Brown. She is survived by her mother, Betty DeMello; sisters, Barbara Costa and Janet Villa; brother, Dennis DeMello; daughter, Dawn M. Brown; and grandsons, Nicholas and Keith Brown. A Memorial service will be held at the Bible Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 1520 - 8th Avenue, Oakland, CA 94606 on October 14, 2010 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to either of the two organizations: Serenity House, 680-25th Street, Oakland, CA 94612; or, Sutter VNA Hospice, 1900 Powell Street, Suite 300, Emeryville, CA 94608.
