Roger FAHEY

Roger Fahey Resident of Hayward Roger passed away on September 29, 2010. He was born in Alameda and lived most of his life in the East Bay. He served in the Army Air Corps. in World War II. He worked for the Sheet Metal Union #104 for over 50 years. He married Betty Hodgson. There were married for 66 years before his death. The volunteered at Lorenzo Manor School, the Hayward Library and the Seamans Church (a group that gave a Christmas box to each sailor on a freighter that entered New York and New Jersey Harbors). They both knitted caps and scarves to go into the boxes. They had two sons, Dennis and Keith. Dennis is deceased. Roger is survived by Betty; Keith; grandchildren Jessica & Jason Fahey and Melissa Armstrong; step-daughter Kim Madsen and great-granddaughter Sara Hamilton. His ashes will be held until Betty's death, then the two will be scattered together. No services, at his request.
