William Irving Obituary

William C. Irving 23 Mar. 1928 - 14 Sept. 2010 Resident of Castro Valley William "Bill" Irving passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sept. 14, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents Louise and Chester Irving, younger brother, Bruce Irving, and the Light O' Love Elma Davis who passed away four months earlier. Bill leaves his sister Mary (Bill) Ross, nieces Linda Carroll and Laurie Ross with their families, Bruce's children Renee, Richard and Polly and Elma's children Glen (Julie) Davis and Earle (Candy) Davis. He was a kind and considerate scholarly man who made friends throughout his life from his days in Klamath Falls, military service, Univ. of Oregon, and a variety of experiences in banking, lumber industry and later in projects with Elma. He was involved in the Celtic Society, Toothpick Collectors of America, Teardrop Trailers and loved traveling. Some may also remember Bill's folksy articles under his pen name "Walking Willie" in the Camptonville paper. Enjoy your walk in the great beyond "Walking Willie". We will miss you. His memorial service will be October 14, 2010, 1:00pm at Spencer's Mortuary, 21228 Redwood Rd., Castro Valley. Reception to follow.
