Winifred Madison Obituary

Wini, (Winifred Karen Madison) Resident of Oakland, CA beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend entered into eternal glory, Thursday, September 30, 2010. She was born June 13, 1945 to the union of Fletcher and Dorsie Long who preceded her in death along with sisters, Jean Boyd, Patricia King, Anita Young and Brother James Times. Wini received her formal education and graduated from Grant Union High School in Sacramento and relocated to Oakland where she received her degree from Merritt College. She married Leonard Madison in 1963 and from that union a son Eric Madison was born. Wini worked at Union Pacific Railroad and while there pursued her career as a Real Estate Broker.While living in Oakland Wini embraced the Buddhist Religion which she practiced faithfully from 1975 she held numerous positions and most recently Women's Division Area Leader. Wini practiced Real Estate in the Bay Area for over 30 years; she served in many capacities in the Real Estate industry and other organizations in the Bay Area. She leaves to cherish her memories her only son, Eric Madison, New York, Sisters: Barbara Whittaker, Marsha King, Paula Long, Barbara Hammock (all from Sacramento) along with a host of loving aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, Buddhist family, Real Estate Family and a host of friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday Oct. 9, 1:00 pm at Ikeda Auditorium, 2450 17th Street, San Francisco, CA 94110 (415) 255-6007 Condolences may be sent to 3045 Middleton, Oakland, CA 94605.
