Mary Bobe Obituary

Mary Ann Bobe Oct. 27, 1921 - Oct. 6, 2010 Resident of Oakland Mary Ann was born October 27, 1921, to Joseph and Helen Berry in Fresno, California. She entered into rest October 6, 2010 in Oakland, which she always considered her "home town," having moved there as a very young child. She attended Melrose, Lockwood and Fremont High in Oakland, and then worked as a stenographer for General Electric and the Oakland Public School district. She married the late Sidney P. Bobe in 1943, and they celebrated nearly 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2008. She was a long-time member of St. Alphonsus Church in San Leandro, and of the Noel Institute, Y.L.I. She loved gardening, hummingbirds, butterflies and particularly baseball. Over the years she was an avid fan of the Oakland Oaks, then the San Francisco Giants, and finally her last love, the Oakland A's. Surviving Mary Ann is her daughter, Michele Dana, San Francisco; granddaughter Trysha (John) Hicks, Riverbank, CA; great-grand-children Erica, Justine, Shane and Katie; niece Janelle Wilhite; nephews Alvin Soares and James Berry. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 13th, 11am, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Services conclude at the church; private burial at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mercy Brown Bag Program, Mercy Retirement Center, 3431 Foothill Blvd, Oakland CA 94601 are suggested. Holy Angels Funeral & Cremation Center, FD1456 510-537-6600
