Joyce Theodore

Joyce Theodore Resident of Pleasanton passed away on October 8, 2010 at the age of 79. She was born in Alabama on February 14, 1931 to parents Emmet and Tula Walker. Joyce moved to Livermore, CA when she was 13 years old and resided in Pleasanton over 60 years. Joyce Theodore was a loving, caring person who always put her family first. Her warmth, humor, and generosity of spirit made her easy to love. She took great joy in her family, especially her grandchildren who adored her. Her passions included cooking, gardening, ceramics, and bowling. Her dogs were also a great source of joy in her life. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Erman Theodore Sr., her oldest son Gary Kruse and her sister Mary Abrott. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Leon of Pleasanton and sons Erman Theodore Jr. of Discovery Bay and Steve Kruse of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Grandchildren Sofia Leon, Brodie Theodore, Chelsie Theodore, Jasmin Kruse, Steve Kruse Jr. and Melissa Kruse plus many great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Friday, October 15, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 7:00pm with a 7:00pm service at Graham Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton. Burial service will be on Saturday October 16, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Augustine's Cemetery in Pleasanton. Donations may be made to the Heart Association or Arthritis Foundation.
