Adele Janet Clegg Feb. 13, 1950 - Oct. 1, 2010 Life-long Resident of Oakland Adele Janet Clegg, passed away unexpectedly from complications of diabetes. She was loved by many close and extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Adele's life will be held on Friday, October 15th, 11:00am, Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA 94611, 510-654-0123. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Adele's name to the Diabetes Assoc. of the SF Bay Area, African American Initiatives.

I have many memories of Adele from her days at Pepsi and from talking with her about her daughter Rhonda and her employment at The Cheese Steak Shop. I think she wanted to make sure I wasn't a "tyrant". I think I satisfied her that I was not.
I also remember the ball games with 3 generations Grandma, Adelle, and Rhonda. I have a picture of those 3 generations gracing my office and am gazing at it now. As an aside, I gained a new Grandma in the process.
From where I sat , Adele was a gracious and endearing person who put her family first and I am sad at her passing.
I have faith that her troubles are over and it's the family and friends that need to pick up the pieces.
I hope to see her again in the "great luxury box in the sky".
