Thomas Wesley Oliver Dec. 29, 1941 - Oct. 14, 2010 Thomas Wesley Oliver, age 68, of Eatonton, GA, died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at his home. Born in Oakland, California on December 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Lee Oliver and Ruth Ryan Oliver. In 1960 he graduated from Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland, CA. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University at Fresno ("Fresno State") and later received his Masters of Education from Golden Gate College. While at Fresno State, he was a member of Sigma Chi. He served his country in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. After successfully starting and running his own office supply business for many year, Tom became a partner in The Highlands Group in Atlanta, GA until his retirement in 2000. Tom loved traveling and seized every opportunity to enjoy life. He was an avid golfer and tennis player and enjoyed bicycling, kyacking, jet skiing and snow skiing. He was a member of Lake Oconee Community Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beryl Joan Hicks Oliver; and brother Richard Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Constance "Connie" Tuthill Oliver of Eatonton, GA; a daughter, Robyn Oliver Webb and husband Michael of Atlanta, GA; a son, Christopher Lee Oliver and wife Alison of Atlanta, GA; stepchildren, Denise Hammond and husband Ken of Charlotte, NC, Aimee Had and Blake Larsen of Truckee, CA and Steve Had and wife Suzanne of Northville, MI; eight grandchildren, Ella Webb, Lucy Webb, Madeline Webb, Lena Oliver, Hunter Hammond, Colton Hammond, Lauren Had and Max Had; and friends everywhere. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Great Waters Club House, 110 Plantation Drive, Eatonton, GA 31024 with Dr. David Key officiating. Internment, with the immediate family only, will follow at Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642. A reception will be held at the family's home after the graveside service at 6:30pm.
